OUR STORY
The firm Raul César Ferreira (Herd.), S.A., (RCF), originated in the Registry opened in 1929 by Prof. Doctor Engº Raul César Ferreira (1890 – 1959), writer and shipbuilder engineer who joined the Portuguese navy where he remained until he began his activity as Official Agent of Industrial Property. Currently the technical direction is ensured by the Official Agents of Industrial Property Dr. António Trigueiros de Aragão, Dr. Pedro Moreira, Dr. João Jorge, Dr. Elsa Canhão and Eng. Jorge Faustino.
RCF is one of the leading market offices in Portugal, in the Intellectual Property sector, counting in its staff with internal employees specialized in the protection of innovation through Intellectual Property and with deep knowledge in various technological areas, as well as a highly qualified staff of external collaborators in the most diverse scientific areas.
RCF has among its clients some of the most representative Portuguese companies, as well as the most relevant foreign companies, namely European, American and Asian from various sectors of activity. Currently, in addition to the protection of innovation, it is dedicated to supporting its internationalization, ensuring that it is done only after guaranteed the level of protection required and the appropriate adaptations of the product itself to the new market.

In June, 1959, Eng. António de Arantes e Oliveira is appointed as an Official Industrial Property Agent. In the same year, he takes up the technical direction of Raul César Ferreira (Herdeira), Lda. , a position he held until 1973.

In 1961, Raul César Ferreira (Herdeira) Lda. receives a Diploma of Recognition for the excellent organisation of the Portuguese section of the 10th edition of the Brussels’ International Inventors Exhibition.

Foundation of CCILA
Raul César Ferreira (Herdeira) Lda. is admitted to the Portuguese-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry [CCILA – Portuguese acronym].
1976
Foundation of ACPI
ACPI, originally called the Portuguese Association of Industrial Property Consultants, was established on July 9, 1976 and RCF is among its founding associates. RCF, represented by Eng. João Arantes e Oliveira, chaired the ACPI’s Management between 1976 and 1999. RCF has maintained functions in ACPI’s governing bodies since its constitution until today.
